2008 Howard Smith Paper Awards

The Howard Smith Paper Graphic Design and Print Awards entries must be published during 2007-2008. The category criteria are detailed below:

BOOKS & MAGAZINES

Exceptional graphic implementation and use of materials, printing techniques and/or binding for front covers, sections/features within either, or books/magazines in their entirety.

ANNUAL REPORTS

Innovative graphic executions supported by materials and printing techniques for financial reporting documents for any kind of business or institution.

MANUALS & CATALOGUES

Innovative graphic executions supported by materials, printing techniques, and/or binding for technical literature such as manuals, guidelines, instruction booklets as well as catalogues designed for any purpose.

BROCHURES

Exceptional graphic implementation and use of materials, printing techniques, and/or binding designed for any purpose.

POSTERS

Exceptional graphic implementation and use of materials, printing techniques, folding and/or delivery of posters created for any promotional purpose.

DIRECT MAIL

Innovative graphic executions supported by materials and/or printing techniques in any format.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Exceptional use of environmental papers, printing processes, campaign messages, and sustainability, or all of the above.

FINE ART (print category only)

Exceptionally printed materials focusing on fine art with an emphasis on quality repro.

MISCELLANEOUS

Any printed works that do not fall under any of the other design / print categories.
