2008 Howard Smith Paper Awards

Awards

Here’s how it works.

There are several categories in both graphic design and print. Your entry will be judged for either graphic design or print, unless you’ve expressly entered it for both.

There is just one winner per category, and we’ll make a special award for the piece of work that, in the chairman’s opinion, represents the most successful synthesis of design and print.

Judging will be by panels of expert jurors, including an international chairman. Any judge who has been involved in the production of an entry, or has a vested interest in the company that produced a specific entry, will abstain from passing judgment on that particular item. Entries may be re-categorised at the judges’ discretion.

Judges

Chairman of the Judges, Alexander Gelman (most commonly known as Glmn), is a celebrated media artist based in New York and Tokyo. He collaborates with musicians and artists, companies and institutions, designs products and installations, directs TV commercials and music videos. Some of his collaborations include projects with Apple, Nike, Target and Warp Records in London.

In 2001 The Museum of Modern Art listed Alexander Gelman among the “world’s most influential modern and contemporary artists in all media”.
